The other day a friend stopped over and I offered her a cup of tea. She requested that I heat the water on the stove and that has brought to my attention an old issue with whether or not you should use the microwave oven for cooking. She clearly is against it. I did some checking and find this is not a dead issue. After the microwave became a popular household appliance in the 70s (now that is showing some age) there was a lot of controversy on this issue but over all we, the general public, were assured they were safe to add to you household. But, in checking this out I have to ponder this issue again. I started to depend more on my microwave when like a lot of mothers, I went back to work full time.
The fact that the microwave oven was a by-product of war time radar research is a concern but is it safe? In checking these web sites: Should you be concerned about cooking in a microwave oven
There is a very informative article at: http://www.healingdaily.com/microwave-ovens.htm
This may make you stop and think before you go to the microwave and put in that quick cup of tea. It does me. Could you go without your microwave? I know there was a time that I did not think I could but these articles make me wonder. Now, that we have more technology and better safety testing equipment along with higher safety standards do you think it is safe? Write me a comment let me know what you think.
