We have a beautiful state with all the lakes and natural parks.  Camping for this year is now over as far as summer camping.  Now there are a number of different tours that are going on to see the Fall Foliage Color changes.  It truly is beautiful.  If you want to take a leisurely trip through upstate New York and view this spectacular sites, taking a train ride is a great way to do this.  It is affordable and since no one has to drive all can enjoy.  You would have to plan this early though because the views don’t last long.  It is hard to believe it is time for that already this year.  Here is a great link for helping to plan this trip:  http://www.onboardnewyorktours.com/fall-foliage-tours-hudson-valley/?gclid=COuxyvTCm50CFdVL5QodsHWt2Q          Or plan a drive with the help of this link:  http://www.adirondacks.com/fallreport.html

In November hunting season opens up and there are a lot of hunting camps around too.  My husband has a hunting camp.  He gets together with some family and friends and they lease property and then they put a couple campers on the land.  We have a small older camper that he takes to the camp land and then when the hunting season opens he can go there when ever he gets time off from work.  He has a tree stand on the property also.  This is usually at least one week of his annual vacation time and any weekends and of course the Thanksgiving holiday.    In my family the holidays take second place to the hunting.

The next thing you will notice on our lakes here is Ice Fishing Shanties.  Once the lakes have frozen over enough the avid fishermen head out with their fishing shanties and other gear.  Just like in the movies they cut a hole in the ice and fish through the hole.  There is a great link for a list of Ice Fishing necessities at :  http://fishing.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.icefishingworld.com%2Fice_fishing_equipment.html

There are some avid campers that like to camp in the winter.  Some of the newer Recreation Vehicles now are equipped for camping in the winter months and have enough insulation to keep you warm if  especially built for keeping the campers comfortable year round.  Most of the newer models have an option to add this type of insulation if you are in the market for that type of camper and interested in this type of camping.

At my camp after we close up we have just as many snowmobiler’s camping through the winter that come in and set up campers and they add a boot room to the entrance of the camper.  Our campground owner keeps them in storage for the campers that do this every year.  These boot rooms are for the camper to come in from the harsh weather and take off all the snow clothing before they inter the camper.  Here is a great link for introduction into the snowmobile trails here:  http://www.adirondack.net/snowmobile-trails/       Or here:     http://www.adirondacks.com/snowmobile.html      So plan a trip to Upstate New York for your fall or winter fun.
